Written in a cab, train and plane enroute home to Canada from the UK. It was written without an instrument. It came together more as a thank you letter to friends. However, upon arriving home, unpacking and catching-up with my guitar, chords formed around the words, and it became a thank-you song to friends. WTWWP was the impetus for Sundumb.
lyrics
Wonderful Times (w Wonderful People)
SOCAN/BMI/Radiolatte, 2006
KEY Gm
Ashes of travel
Atlantic and astral
Winds in the jet-stream lane
Airplanes by great lakes
London by long trains
Wish we were back with you again
(intro)
Ide Hill to Norfolk
London then Soho
Piccadilly on to the Thames
Hearts in the rafters
Underground chatter
To the North Sea waves
But the wings, on planes, guarantees that it can happen again
So to you our friends, we thank-you and commend:
For all the wonderful times, with wonderful people
With love in our hearts we wait for the signals
Maybe in Cairo/Ghana/Russia, but maybe in Cleveland/Kingston/Geneva
With tears in our eyes, we wait for the sequel
Memories move faster
Away ever after
It starts to fade but it’s saved
Lanes shifting faster
Speeding by pastures
Wish we were back with you again
Chorus (x2)
Bridge(X2)
