When I was 18 and needed some adventure, I bought a 4 month open ticket on Amtrak. I travelled thousands of miles throughout the USofA by train, and stopped-off when I felt the need to visit interesting cities/towns/states/or people. The song was written years later, and overlays with a friends trip to the carribean islands that occured around the same time.
Its nothing more then memory and conjecture.

Key F / BPM 138
Cold snowy rain, sleets down as I board
And the cold steel frame, idles ready in the north
South on rails, night times bar car
Drunk like winos half lit in the park
We sing all night cause we want
Sun on our arms, tans on our hearts
Sundumb like the stars
Before the sun comes up
We’re on the beach with our boards
And the sun peeks in, hell we feel love and adored
Late afternoon rain drives every one indoors
Good time to rest up, bonfires under stars
We sing all night cause we want
Sun on our arms, tans on our hearts
Sundumb like the stars
Instrumental Bridge
Solo
(Coda) We Sing all night cause we want sun on our arms
Tans on our hearts, sundumb like stars
I can’t, I try I want to stay away
But the stars make the waves come back everyday (coda x 2)
